Moreton Bay Able Anglers was designed in 2014 and after much research and development, was founded in 2016.
Moreton Bay Able Anglers was built by Steve. Since a young age, Steve was medically diagnosed as having Clinical Depression.
Through growing up, Steve tried many recovery techniques and rehabilitation methods and found photography and fishing to be the most enjoyable recreational activities.
Steve self-taught himself I.T, eventually building a I.T Business that spanned all states of Australia, employing over 120 staff nationally until he discovered photography.
Steve self-taught himself photography where he went on to winning international awards and being internationally published. Then there is fishing, while not an award winning fisherman, Steve is a master at feeding the fish rather than catching them.
It is through the elements of mother nature, the fresh air and great outdoors, Steve found his spirit was lifted, his stress decreased and most importantly, his mental health and emotional state stabilised and changed much of his mood and inclusion into life's activities.
Since being hooked to the salty natural environment that has brought him happiness, in 2016, Steve decided to share his discovery with the world and Moreton Bay Able Anglers was born.
Moreton Bay Able Anglers is all about Social Inclusion and through the generous donations and sponsors, Steve is able to provide the fishing group and outings at relatively low rates, however, the plan has always been and will always be to gain sponsorships and donations significantly enough to provide a beautiful fishing group session absolutely free to participants.
Our mission is quite simply to help people, while our primary goal is to assist people living with a disability and/or mental health across the Moreton Bay area, our services can be used by anyone with a keen interest in recreational fishing.
We love to show clients how calm, relaxing, and therapeutic the natural environment of salty water can change ones mood.
- Building meaningful and long-lasting relations with the clients.
- Strengthening bonds among families, friends, and employees.
- Promoting recreational fishing - it's essence and benefits - to people with disabilities or mental health throughout the Moreton Bay Region.
- Social Inclusion into group activities to lead the way in providing a non-biased, non-judgemental system for participants to continually enjoy.
